Mixing

How to send your song for mixing
  • Export all tracks as 24 bit WAV or AIFF files (no DAW project files).
  • Make sure there is NO CLIPPING at any point.
  • Remove any dynamic processors from your master bus.
  • If there is a Vocal Lead or a Main Lead instrument send Wet and Dry versions of it (all FX on, all FX off).
  • Every track must include the song name and a descriptive track name. ex: “SONGNAME – LEAD GUITAR WET.wav” (really important for future references and revisions).
  • Send all tracks in a compressed (ZIP, RAR) folder with the name of the artist, name of the song, tempo (bpm) and key. ex: “ARTIST – SONG – XXX BPM – Abmin.zip” (if there is a bpm or key change in the song, please tell us).
  • Send the files once the song is finished. If you need to change one track once we have started mixing the song, its an extra, so we try to avoid it.
  • Always send your Rough Mix to use as a reference point.
  • Send references as mix/master examples of the sound you are looking for.

Mastering

How to send your song for mastering
  • Send 24bit WAV or AIFF files.
  • Make sure there is no clipping (loudest peaks should be around -3 to -6 dBFS).
  • Turn off any limiter or clipper from your master and try to avoid heavy compression on your mix bus.
  • If possible, when exporting your mix, add some silence before the track starts and after it ends to avoid losing initial transients of ending tails.
  • Name your file with the name of the artist, name of the song, tempo (bpm) and key. ex: “ARTIST – SONG – XXX BPM – Abmin.wav” (if there is a bpm or key change in the song, please tell us).
  • When sending a song for stem mastering, send no more than 8 stems (6 might be enough for some tracks).
  • Make sure your song is finished before you send it. If you want us to master a new version of the same song (some minor changes, etc) we can do it, but its has some extra costs.
  • Send us your master demo if you have it, and always attach references to point us the direction you are going for.
